Jacques Joseph Tissot, dit "James" Tissot, est un artiste majeur de la seconde moitié du XIXe siècle. Peintre et graveur français formé aux Beaux-Arts de Paris, il a passé une partie de sa vie en Angleterre, où il a peint la haute société de l'époque victorienne, avant de revenir dans la capitale française.
